I started my career in the mental health field as an intern at a youth house shelter working with the adolescent population. After achieving my bachelor’s from University of Phoenix, I worked as a Mental Health Technician at an inpatient children’s psychiatric hospital. I worked full time at the facility for five years and then transitioned into a case management position for an ABA company, while earning my Registered Behavior Technician certification.
Since then, I graduated with my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have spent much of my career since then providing therapy to individuals, couples and families in the outpatient setting. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, with a variety of mental health needs.
My passion and expertise focus on working through a systemic viewpoint with focus on multi-generational trauma, or family relationships. I have done extensive work with clients with PTSD, Panic Disorders, Anxiety, and Depression, Borderline Personality Disorders. I have provided group therapy and training for crisis intervention and crisis de-escalation.
My counseling style is strength based with an emphasis on how we live in our environments and observing the areas of life that are impacting us. This focus allows me to view the patterns and interactions of an individual within many perspectives as well as better understand behavior and communication styles. My goal is to help others improve themselves. I am currently working on completing licensure for both my Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I strive to help clients realize and build their personal strengths, to live their best life.
