As an undergraduate student, I completed an internship through the Child Welfare Education for Baccalaureates (CWEB Scholarship) gaining experiencing in observing the child welfare system within foster homes. After graduating in 2016, I continued my career in child welfare system. I have worked in many different roles within that system, however, spent most of my time and career in the Adoption and Independent Living Unit. Most of experience was spent finding, assisting and supporting adoptive families and children through the adoptive process. Other time was spent helping adolescents and young adults navigate the foster care system, and then transitioning to an independent adult.
