I began my career in the mental health field as a mental health technician at a residential facility while pursing my Psychology undergrad degree. I then was able to work as a counselor in elementary schools in the Philadelphia area where I graduated with my Master’s in Community and Trauma Counseling, in May of 2021, from Thomas Jefferson University.
After transitioning back to the Lehigh Valley, I started working as an in-home therapist for Lehigh and Northampton County. I have worked with families who have at-risk youth and adolescents who are potentially in danger of placement. I have experience working with both adolescents and adults that are struggling with various mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, as well as other behavioral and emotional disorders like DMDD.
My role as a therapist using the MST (Multi-Systemic Therapy) treatment modality, is to improve individual and family functioning by utilizing community resources and targeted techniques to improve behavior, individual and family strengths to promote positive coping activities. I have experience with various other treatment modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.
I also have experience working with various age ranges and communities from residential treatment facilities, to schools, and in-home work. I have been granted experiences to work in different settings and observe how systems work in each which allows me to be a strategic therapist. I have had the ability to take on different roles as as a therapist, having to adjust my approach to be able to meet the needs of each individual. My approach is person centered and trauma informed. It has allowed me the flexibility to meet people where they are at and learn creative ways to problem-solve. My goal is to help my clients better understand themselves and the people around them so that they are empowered to make positive choices for their own lives.
