I started my counseling career path interning at a homeless shelter and meeting the needs of men working through the program. There, I worked on helping the men better understand their emotions and work through their past experiences to help create the best possible futures for themselves. This experience helped me earn my Master's Degree in Christian Family, Marriage, and Individual Counseling from Southeastern. Since graduating, I have been working a full-time position as a Family Therapist at Valley Youth House. I work to help strengthen the mental health of the families through intensive in-home therapy.
I am currently on track to obtain my LPC once my hours are completed and am seeking additional training in treating depression, anxiety, stress, and addiction problems. I have experience working with a wide variety of both individual and group clients and looking to only increase my experience by working part-time at The Calm Space.
As your therapist, I lean towards strength-based and solution-focused theories as I believe every person, if given the tools and assistance, is capable of conquering the problems that are hindering their lives. I desire to have all my clients see themselves as the heroes to their own problems and can accomplish the goals we set together. I believe therapy is a tool that if used properly can make a major difference in almost anyone's life. It will be my pleasure in helping you do so.
