What Experience Will I Get?
A supervised learning environment where you apply theoretical knowledge to real-world client interactions.
Hands on experience in a clinical setting
Observing experience therapists who are trained in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and various other treatment modalities
Learning how to conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, lead therapy sessions under close supervision.
Learn various therapeutic approaches as well as alternative wellness and holistic therapies such as Acupuncture, Reiki, Massage, and movement/wellness classes
Gain a deep understanding of ethical considerations all while refining your communication and therapeutic skills to prepare for a career as a licensed therapist
Expectations & Requirements
Must be enrolled in a master's level graduate program in the field of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, etc.
Able to work in person
Flexible scheduling to work evening hours and weekends
Commitment to work 4-8 hours per week during practicum.
Commitment to work at least 16-20 hours per week per internship guidelines
Open to working with a variety of different mental health disorders, ages, and cultural backgrounds
Hold and provide a copy of current liability insurance as a student intern
Provide background clearances (FBI criminal history check, PA state criminal history check, ACT 33 – PENNSYLVANIA CHILD ABUSE CLEARANCE)
